International Congress on Animal Reproduction (ICAR) is a non-profit international organisation, focused on organising conferences on Animal Reproduction.
Founded in 1948, and formerly known as the International Congress on Animal Reproduction and Artificial Insemination), ICAR holds a major conference every 4 years in various countries around the world.
The theme of the conference is animal reproduction, namly animal physiology, animal pathology and reproductive technology. Each conference attracts plenary and symposium papers, other contributed papers, workshops, and trade exhibitions.
Governance
- ICAR is governed by a Standing Committee of representatives from over 40 countries.
- An Executive Committee oversees general business according to the Constitution and By-Laws adopted in 1992 and modified in 2002, 2008 and 2016.
- The Secretary General is responsible for a routine administration.
- The Secretary of the Conference Local Organising Committee is responsible for all matters relating to the forthcoming conference.
